1963
The Iceman AKA Jimmy Compton was a full-time fire fighter for the City Of West Palm Beach. On his days off, he worked as a part-time refrigeration technician. In 1963, upon his early retirement from the fire department, Jimmy started his own business "Mr. Ice Machines". He realized the need to specialize in ice machine repairs due to their complex operation and lack of local knowledge to repair them. Under his guidance, he built one of the most reputable ice machine repair companies in Florida.
